Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common queries regarding Sewage Treatment Plants (STP),

municipal regulations, and treatment processes in India.

An STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) treats municipal or domestic sewage — wastewater from bathrooms, kitchens, and general building use. An ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) treats industrial wastewater, which varies by industry and typically contains chemicals, heavy metals, or organic pollutants specific to that manufacturing process.

It depends mainly on site size, space constraints, and flow variability. Extended Aeration suits smaller developments; SBR works well where space is limited or flow fluctuates; MBR is best for water reclamation and reuse; MBBR is a strong retrofit option for boosting existing plant capacity; and SAFF is a reliable, low-maintenance choice for consistent loads. We assess the site before recommending a sewage treatment plant technology.

Yes, significantly. An industrial RO plant is built for continuous, high-volume throughput — thousands of litres per hour in many cases — for process water, desalination, or high-TDS treatment at a commercial or industrial scale. A home purifier is designed for a fraction of that volume and a completely different use case.

Yes. CTE is required before construction or installation begins. CTO is required once the facility is operational, and needs periodic renewal. They're two separate approvals under the Water and Air Acts, and missing either one can halt operations.

ZLD systems typically recover up to 95% of water for reuse, with the remaining contaminants reduced to a solid dry cake rather than discharged as liquid. It's not literally zero in every operational sense, but it eliminates liquid discharge, which is the regulatory and environmental target the term refers to.

We build sewage treatment plants using five technologies — Extended Aeration (EAS), Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR), Membrane Bio Reactor (MBR), Moving Bed Bio-Film Reactor (MBBR), and Submerged Aerobic Fixed Film (SAFF) — and choose the right one based on site size, space, and flow patterns rather than defaulting to a single option.

Yes. Alongside manufacturing STP, ETP, RO, and ZLD systems, we also manage MPCB Consent to Establish and Consent to Operate, Environmental Clearance, and CGWA groundwater NOCs — so the equipment and the paperwork required to legally run it are handled together, not as two separate, uncoordinated processes.

Not directly. Harvested rainwater is filtered to remove debris before storage or groundwater recharge, but it's intended for irrigation, industrial use, groundwater recharge, and secondary domestic use — not as a drinking water source without further treatment.
